About Slate
We build interactive species displays for zoos and aquariums, exhibits that teach better, earn their keep, and fund conservation.
Most exhibit signage is a static label few people read. Meanwhile the science behind every animal, its behaviour, its habitat, its conservation status, is richer and more urgent than ever, and venues are under real pressure to grow revenue without raising ticket prices. Slate exists to close that gap: to turn every wall into a living, accurate, interactive exhibit, and to make that exhibit pay for itself.
Everything we build sits on three commitments.
Built to teach
Real species, real science, drawn from trusted datasets and kept current automatically, the IUCN Red List, GBIF, OBIS, WoRMS, iNaturalist and the WDPA. Three reading levels, read-aloud audio, high contrast and 60 languages, so the same exhibit reaches a child, a casual visitor and an enthusiast alike.
Designed to earn
Screens that promote, guide and upsell across the venue, café offers, memberships, experiences and events, published in seconds and measured by QR. Impressions, scans and attributed revenue, in dashboards you can take to a board.
Made to conserve
The companion app puts the whole guide in every visitor's pocket for free, and a share of every Explorer subscription goes to conservation, turning engagement into recurring support for the wild animals the exhibits are about.
We're an early-stage company building this in the open with the venues we work alongside. If that mission resonates, and you'd like a say in how the product grows, we'd love to talk.
